P1416 is sticking passenger side AIR check valve. It will/should not affect performance. Unfortunately the check valve is behind the intake manifold. It is a royal PITA to get to, and having small hands helps. I had to move the intake manifold to get to it, others report they did not have to. The part is cheap, but getting it out is a PITA. Do a search for P1416 and there are a few writeups about it.

Ok heres the word. I agree with what the guy above said however, i DOUBT you'll be able to get to it with the proper tools. You may be able to get to it with just your hands but not with tools. And even if you do, youd have to feel around since you wont be able to see what you are looking at. The valve is located behind the intake manifold and under the cowl. I consider myself as have medium sized hands that are thin (so i sholuld be able to get to it), but i cant even see what i am looking for...

I have been getting the same code as you but it is intermittant. Some times I get while others i dont...and you can tell when the system activates because it sounds like a small fan (or pump) kicking on for about 3 seconds...then it kicks off again...after it kicks off it usually when i get the code but not always...i dont have the know-how, time, or money to fool with it so ive just left it alone and have had no problems for over 8 months now. I had a couple of chevy dealers quote the fix and they all were over 500 dollars. The part is only 20 bucks or so. I would see if i could get my hand in there, if not, just leave it and clear the code when it pops up. Someday when you do some other mods, maybe an LS6 intake or something else, have them switch it out.

If you want to look at one, you have one just above the LH side exhaust manifold that is plainly visible. Unfortnuately, the RH side is buried....

id definitely be concerned as well. What type of mods do you have? what about O2 sensors (they can cause similar problems). How did you check the MAF. I have heard that if you have a filter system that uses an oil on the element, that the MAF gets "clogged" with the oil cuasing bad problems...check it out and let us know.
EDIT:
Im not too familiar with the LS1 however, my little sunfire had a hesitation problem and it turned out to be the coil pack. One of them didnt work so that cylinder wouldnt fire. All that raw gas would then dump out and into the exhaust system...my cat is bad now because of it but after a coil pack replacement, it runs great. I believe ive seen coil packs from MSD for LSX motors...so it could be this too...oh and the sunfire wasnt pulling any codes either....had to use an autotap to diagnose
