I bought the Wolfe Race Craft 6 point bar kit for my Z06. And when they say kit they mean KIT! Even though I paid extra for the jig cut bar it was still a lot of work to make it fit good. I like the bar, it was fair quality, but could have been better. Their bolt in rear mounts are a joke, I totally redid those so they attach to the frame instead of the 1/16" thick fiberglass. It should do the job if ever needed, which I hope I never do! I went with Wolfe bar because it sit back farther from my head than all the others I seen. Being 6'3" I have to have the seat all the way back all the time and the Wolfe bar allows that. They do make one for the verts. But I think with a vert bar the bar will be much closer to your head than the coupes or FRC.
Your close enough to come look at this one if you want. It is not in the car yet but the bar is complete as well as the rear mounts. Easy to see with the entire car apart!
I have been checking on roll bars for a few months. Wolfe seems to be the most popular for C5s, but you have to cut up the waterfall for a Vert. Go to Wolfe's web site along with Neverlift's site, and also ECS has one for the vert. I'm leaning toward Neverlift's because of the design. Ragtop did a Wolfe install you might pm him. Good luck with what ever you choose.

I'm not sure I like the Wolfe design, Neverlift won't answer my emails or phone calls, maybe I'll call ECS.
I'm in the same boat as you. I've got a 98 vert that I want to take to the track on a more frequent basis. ESC appears to have a design with the least amount of modification but it costs $1300 The Neverlift design requires you to cut the toneau (according to the pics on their website). I'm leaning toward the Wolfe bar because it's a lot cheaper (~$300) and I'd rather find a replacement waterfall to modify than a toneau cover.
Need a 6 point roll bar for my 04 convertible.
What good and bad points has anyone experienced with their roll bar and what make do you recommend?
I run a hard top on the car. It is more expensive, but it doesn't require cutting up the car at all. I looked into roll bars when I got my vert. Most will pass tech, though they aren't technically legal.

Does your hard top pass tech? I didn't think those were legal w/o a roll bar.

I am very tall, 6'8" to be exact, and the only way I would really fit into a corvette at all was with a convertible. I made my own roll bar, out of 2" O.D. 11 gauge ERW tubing. I cut and bent the pieces myself, had professionals TIG weld it together, and just finished painting and installing a few weeks ago.
I wasn't interested in running my car with the top up, and to get the full protection that I wanted, I needed to make the rollbar taller than the top of my helmeted head. What all of this means is that I cannot operate the top with the roll bar bolted in, and the tonneau cover must also be removed. The roll bar only takes 5 minutes to bolt in, and the tonneau can be removed in less than 5 minutes as well. What I have looks very good, although it is a "race only" setup. If you need ideas and have the expertise, I will send you pictures via email, and you can figure out what is right for you.
--oops. I didn't see that you needed a six pointer. Mine is only 4 pt. Well the offer stands to anyone else who might be interested.
I've been wanting one for years now and I've read every related post on the forum during the last couple years. My vote is ECS has the best rollbar for our C5 verts - 6 point with swing out bars, seat belt attachments and no mods to our waterfall. I just can't afford their price yet.

did you guys drop your fuel tanks for the installation? getting them back in and that 2 3/4" fuel connector tube hooked up was a b!tch working all alone. That part of the job almost ate me alive.
Also, did anyone else weld pieces to the vette for the installation? I welded two plates in, everything else was bolts!
