After a couple of months of a head-cam, header-exaust, rear-end, and
2800 stall torque converter from Summit racing, I have a vibration under acceleration between 3500 and 4000 RPM's... It does it in any gear under load... Running in drive at normal driving speeds it is smooth!
The vibration just feels like the torque converter but I'm not sure...
What do you think? Are Summit racing converters good ones?
Is this a possible cause? Any instructions for the easiest way to install
a converter would really help! I don't think it's in the motor, just runs to good... Thanks
It is quite possible the vibration is coming from your T/C. Contact Summit and let them know about it. I am sure Summit doesn't really make the T/C. One of the T/C companys makes the T/C and Summit just puts their name on it. It is difficult to say how good or bad the T/C is without knowing who made it.
Invoice shows it to be a TCI-242800 performance torque.
Summit says they have had no problems with TCI and doesn't think it's in the torque converter. If I change converters what is the best one to go with? And is it about the same as a rear-end swap to install it?
