Default Knock retard question

Hello,
I just bought a 98 corvette convertible from a dealership with 20,000 miles. I went out for a test drive with my buddy and he hooked up his ls1edit. When we punched it in 4th gear, I was receiving around 10 degrees knock retard. Does anyone know what the cause of this could be? I am new to this forum and new to my vette, so any information would be great.

Jump over to the scan and tune part of the site for more info.

I'll tell you that I am experiencing that now with my 1997 LS1 but I have LG longtube headers and some other bolt ons....

Make sure the knock is under ACCELERATION, since some backfiring and detonation on DECELERATION is somewhat normal. I was logging and backing out timing and it's more deceleration related....so I need to add some back.

Ok, thanks! I will look at the other section to see what I can find. The knock is definetly on ACCELERATION. Thanks again!
