Ok, Now that I am going to order a 2800 Stall Yank! What is the setting in the pcm that I need to change so I will not hit the rev limiter. Specifically using EFI Live. I have heard of certain codes that had to be done or change so that it will lock up correctly!
Are youn enjoying it! What gears do you have and does it feel loose! I have the 3:42's
it was recommended from my tuner back when i did the blower and the trans. it was meant to be a DD, with the occasion romp at the track..
started off with stock 3.15's...then went 3.42's....yep i like it. its a little bit looser at low rpm around town, no biggy. install a good trans cooler and call it a day..
for track use i wouldnt change a thing. i pull consistant 1.5-1.6 short times.
can brake stall up to about 16-1700. my little c5 comes out of the hole pretty good...me likey. see sig.
peace
EDIT: it is a little bit looser arount town, but at idle it still creeps, rolls forward, still need to use the brake when at a stop...no free wheelin if u know what i mean.

If the 2800 stall you are installing is the Stealth 2800. I would rethink installing it. If I were you I would go for the SS3200. It is a lighter 9.5 inch T/C that is much more efficent and better performing than the heavy Stealth that is nothing but a modified stock T/C.

Is THAT right ? Need more info on this now.... I'm looking into the same issue.

I run a Yank SS3600 and 3.42's and love it around town, car will creep with no pedal input and will move well with just small pedal input at about 1700-1800 rpm's, after two weeks of driving totally used to it, and all hell breaks loose when you smash the go pedal. Probably the best thing I ever did to the car performance wise. Are you going to be installing a cam? How big. If its going to be a daily driver no FI, I would run a SS 3200 over a Stealth 2800, much more efficient converter like Mitch says, my 3600 is fantastic..

Well to make a long story short, I have a 228-222 Comp Cam and ls6 Heads and the whole nine yards with a 3:42 rear end w/ B&M Super Cooler.
I did have a 3200 Fuddle racing stall in when all this was done, but it felt like (SHIAT). It felt absolutely horrible around town, and with the Borlas stingers it was too loud for the human ear to bear. It was so bad I drove back to the tuner to have them remove the 3200at fuddle is nothing like a Yank and you can't compare the two.
I have also heard from numerous members on this forum with 2800 stall, that they really like thier 2800 and would trade it for the world. So, I am at a cross road to this point. I will probally choose the 2800 stall because many people have told that you do not need to tune for a 2800.
I would like to hear more of your opinions on this matter

All 2800 stalls are not the same. Which 2800 stall were these members talking about Vig.2800. Yank TT2800 or Pro Torque 2800? Either of these convetrers I just mentioned is better than the Stealth 2800.
298mm, 2800 Stall, 1.90 STRStock appearing converter that delivers a noticeable improvement in acceleration over stock. 3 tenths reduction in 1/4 times are common.
So what the difference between a Yankk TT 2800 and the one above! Maybe I need some schooling. I don't want to do it wrong twice!
I am not sure if Yank still makes the TT2800. The TT2800 had a high 3.0 STR and hit VERY hard out of the hole. It worked well with relatively small gear ratios like 3.15 or even 2.73. If memory serves it was a 10.5 inch T/C making it more efficent than the Stealth. Do yourself a favor if you have your mind made up that you want a 2800 stall. Go for a Vig.2800 or the TT2800 (if Yank still produces it).
Also, what tuning has to happen when dropping in a ss 3200. Do I need to turn off the TQ Management. Right now mine is reduced to 50% I believe and I was told that I need to turn off something call Pull Swift Modulation???? That waht the guy at yank told me! Please chime in?
