I would like to occasionally shut off the airbags in a 2000 coupe. If I pull the airbag fuse to do this, will I cause any car problems with the fuse out or after reinstalling it? I assume that the airbag fault light will appear, but will it disappear (and will the airbags reactivate) when the fuse is reinstalled?

Why don't you get an airbag cut off switch? I have seen links for them here on the forum. I would not shut off the drivers air bag. If you will have small children in the passenger seat then I would get the switch.
I have a 2000 vert and there is a passenger air bag lock out switch located in the glove box, with a light located on the console that indicates when air bag is disabled.

Must have been a mid year change I had to install one in my coupe.
