Re: DIC codes - Need help Deciphering (Corvette Poor)
The P1626 is a fault that is set when the resistor code in your key is not communicated properly to the PCM. It's basically a security system code.
The C coded relate to all four tire pressure sensors. It may be time to retrain them. I believe these codes are set when the PCM doesn't get a message from the tire pressure sensors when it expects to.
The other (B and U) codes I think are pretty typical although I didn't look those up. I know that all the U codes you mentioned and at least some of the B codes can pop up for no reason and a lot of people get those. I don't think any of them set the "Service Vehicle Soon" message; they are silent codes.
O.K. Thanks for all that valuable info. Now another question...The tire pressure sensors send a radio signal out.... What receiver receives that signal ? What is it called ? Is it the same receiver that receives the key fob signal to lock/unlock the doors ? Anyone have a part number for this unit on a 98 model ? Thanks again !
