Default Hatch pull down?

I have a '00 vert. Having to 'slam' the trunk is making me somewhat nervous. That and I really don't like touching the paint. Can someone tell me if the hatch pull down is actually a feature on C5s? I think I saw somewhere that the coupes had it. This makes sense for the three acres of glass back there. If I'm not imagining things, anyone know where I can pick up the mech need to modify my trunk? I've been looking at the Camaro hatch pull down's (lots on eBay) I may be able to make one of those work.

Any thought? Thanks,

-KOZ

Vince,
Not quite what I had in mind. The hatch pull down, sucks the truck lid down to the fully closed position after you latch it lightly. Don't want to power the roof.....

I had one on my '90 Z28, and agree that it would be a nice feature. It was never an option on a C5.

C5's never had it but the C6 Coupes do. That pull down would probably work.

The hatch will close without slamming it if you leave a door open while closing it.

Lower the hatch then push down on the corners. Works everytime!

Or if you have Window Valet and leave the windows down, close the hatch easily and then put windows up with the key fob. Works great for me.

My 88 firebird had the electronic hatch pull down but it didn't always work right. Would hate to see another electronic item that I'd have to worry about getting the dealership to fix.
