Default My Odometer Reset to ZERO Today!

Has anyone experienced this?

I was making a quick trip to the store... I drove the car yesterday and all was well and noticed the odometer showing almost 3900 miles.

Today I get in the car and turn the ignition and the odometer says 0! I turn off, pull the key, restart the car again... big ZERO on the odometer. I drive to the store, everything sounds fine, the odometer is starting from zero and I make my seven mile drive to the store. I come out of the store and start the car... 3889 on the odometer! WFT? I get home and the odometer ends at 3896. I will kinda keep my eye on it. I don't know if the 7 miles to the store was added on.

Very odd. But for a moment, I was thinking, "How much can I get for an '01 Z with VERY low miles towards an '02." ;)

I hope the next time you start her up it doesn't read 388900.

With bad luck it may stay that way. :cry :cry :cry :(

on the other forum, C4C5specialist had recommended getting the diagnostic codes... didnt even know i could and did... really neat that you have the ability to do some diag to a certain degree. here is what showed up.

10 PCM - P1431H
60 IPC - B0516H
B0 RFA - U1064H

The rest had no codes.

waiting to see if C4C5 can decipher for me... i mean i'm learning that the ipc is the pc instrument panel so it would seem something had to do with that but it doesnt show as a current issue code. i'm confused.

but you learn some cool things on forums... regardless of which one.

IF you can figure how to repeat the feat, you can make a fortune in an aftermarket enhancement.

Better than a CAGS Eliminator... a MILES Eliminator. :D

But I'll be happy enough if it DOESNT happen again

C4C5 told me to check the diagnostics at the moment it happens again... if it happens again.

I wondered if this would happen to the Display.
What would happen if you had to replace the whole computor?
Would the whole system start over like new?

The instrument cluster is a module itself, and thats probably where your fault is...

Funny, not only did in not work for Ferris Buler, it ended up totaling his car!!!
On the upside, better to go down in miles than up. Imagind if it went to 39k instead of 3900!!! Good luck getting it straight.
