From what I have read, the 2K and earlier readout on the DIC can't be turned off, if you choose to run without the tire sensors. Does anyone know off a way to trick it without having to hit reset every time you drive the car?
I'd like to get new C6 style wheels and non-rf tires and don't want to transfer my existing sensors, which are probably near the end of their life, nor buy expensive new ones, unless there's no other option. I'd go for '01 and up sensors, if there was a way to make them work.
There's no trick. You either install the (97-00) sensors, or live with resetting it.
The 01 sensors will not be recognized by your 2000 receiver, they will not work on your car, period.
Post a wtb for early-style sensors on the parts forum, these are very commonly traded there, and you can probably find a deal vs. buying brand new ones..
