Default header people/installers/vendors inside please

Are the headers for a C5 coupe and Z06 on the 01+ cars the same ? Are there any differences in the emision air tubes from one year to another ?

Are the h-pipes the same on these year cars 01-04 ? Are there differences in length between the exhaust manifold down to the cats on these cars, i guess if the 01+ cars used the same h-pipe the distance from the heads and cats is the same ?

How often do people use headers and retain the stock h-pipe ? How many headers allow this ?

thanks for any info , I need to gather info for someone and thought you guys would know the answers !

the air tubes are different 97-00 and 01-04 along with the dipstick/tubes

the Kooks, AR, TSP work with oem h pipes

yes, the h pipes are different lengths

how often? probably more if people knew stock cats are often not a restriction(up to a point)

the '04's are a 'one off' with the o2 wiring

The 01-up are all the same as far as header fitment is concerned...C5 or Z06 makes no difference.

The C5 and Z06 H-pipes do differ (02+Z's don't have the pup cats), but the flange location is the same.

Tom has a good point there, many think the Z06 have 'special' manifolds, just the same cast irons as the base cars have

So, if a company wanted to make a LT header, they could in theory , make it be able to fit all vettes from 02+ and keep the stock cats, since the 01's have a different cat system right. And the 04's would probally need a 02 extensions.

This is what it looks like from what the vendors sell.

I know a company that wants to make a LT header for the vette , and I might get to be a test car for them, if i can provide them with the correct info they need. I think they are concerned with the air tubes and where the headers connect to the h-pipe on our cars.

I wonder what the longest tubes that can be used on the headers and still retain the stock h-pipe ?

thanks for your inputs.........

more comments are welcome

no, the 04's use a different connector, the extensions are used on the LT's with long primaries, ie: LG, Dtech

the pup cats started in 2000 depending on emmissions location, the Z only had them in '01
