Default suspension questions...

so i have a 2000 coupe with a base FE3 suspension.... I am looking at upgrading to Z06 shocks and springs front and back and also Z51 sway bars... how big of a difference will this make in the handling? Is it worth doing? suggestions welcome...

Thanks in advance,

Sully1882

I personally would go with Bilstein Sport Shocks (found on Ebay from this guy techdeals1 ; usually +\- $300).

And the 04 Z06 bars with end links can be purchased from Fred Beans for around the same price as the shocks...

The difference over base will be night and day! I had the Z51 on my 97 - I now have the F45 on my 2000 which I believe uses the base bars...only I can tune the shocks...I am going to go Z06 bars very soon...

Good cheap mod!

I'm running the Z06 bars and 04 Z06 shocks.
Started with just the bars better, after adding the shocks Great!
Stock springs...

Huge difference. I would recommend as above, Z06 springs AND bars and Bilsteins over the OEM Z06 shocks. I can personally attest that it makes a very nice street setup that performs quite well on the track. Compared to the base setup, it makes me wonder what the hell I was thinking ever tracking the base setup.

I would highly recommend the springs if they are in your budget. The bars were nice, but the springs completely changed the car. It actually feels "pointable" now vs. vaguely going through corners.

IMHO this is how the Coupe/vert should have shipped, and the Z should have been closer to T1 type stuff... JMHO.

You will not be disappointed.
