While I placed this question under the Z06 forum, I decided it might get a better response here. I currently have my car at the dealers for realignment as I was showing cord on the inside of the front wheels. However, the alignment specialist only has one factory setting for a Z06. Talking to another Z06 owner, he said that the video which comes with the new car (which I no longer have) provides settings if you want to run the car competitively. Can anyone confirm if this is true, and if so, what those settings are that GM gives for competition?
Also, this is not a track car. I autocross 1-2 times a month during the summer, and I don't want to align the car for competition if it will drasticly reduce the mileage I get with the tires. Does anyone know how much impact competition settings will have no daily driver tire mileage? Thanks for any advice.
The biggest contributor to tire wear on C5s seems to be toe. I've got mine set to 1/32" toe in per side front, 0 rear. Toe out will eat the inside edges out of the fronts, as will negative camber to a lesser degree.
IIRC, I've got my camber set at -0.8 front, -0.6 rear. This compromise between street and autox settings seems pretty good, as I'm getting good tire wear on the street and on the track.

The Z06 does have it's own specifications. The camber and toe settings are more negative than a regular vette's, this is help promote better handling, at the expense of tire wear. Keep on mind Chevrolet is not a tire dealer and doesn't care about tire wear, only great handling.
I'm an ASE cert technician and have been doing alignments for about 15 years(started working on cars around after high school), and personally after I had inner wear on my front tires, I replaced them and set my camber at or near 0.0 and my front toe to about +0.05 on each side(total toe +0.10), and so far my tire has been wearing evenly. I haven't had a chance to autocross it with these settings, but I doubt you vette will handle poorly!
