I read that it does and that it adjust shift line pressure according to driving style. Drive hard and it will learn to shift hard. I have a few questions on that.
Does the something need to be done to get it to do that?
Does it undo any changes made with a Hypertech Power Programmer?
Does it really learn driving style?
Re: Does the PCM learn my driving habits? (REDGAR)
I have heard that a C5's electronics are "adaptiive", especially in C5's with automatic transmissions, which will adapt to a driver's driving style. Specifically, the transmission's shifting characteristics will "soften" if the car is driven (for the lack of a better term) "normally", vice constant "pedal to the metal" redline upshifts which allows the transmission to learn, via engine managment controls, firmer shifting.
Also, a good hard romp through the gears every so often seems to "awaken the beast" in C5's equipped with a manual trans. Maybe it resets something in the fuel managment or timing maps.

Same question was asked in October's Corvette Fever Magazine. Editor says the PCM learns your driving chacteristics and adapts. So, Just like a F-body friend of mine says, "I drive it like I stole it".
Re: Does the PCM learn my driving habits? (REDGAR)
Yup the PCM teachs the engine and tranny. There are short term and long term adaptations that the PCM does. The PCM updates or adapts every 10 minutes. The base calibration is shifted for changes in the fuel consumption, baro pressure, IAT and other sensor changes.
