I am posting some preliminary pics of how the project is going, and I am now in the middle of "testing and tuning" my attempt to duplicate another forum members car. It took me forever to find all the right pieces - but I finally got all of them together and I am VERY happy with the way my car is responding to this mod thus far..
More pics and track times will come soon..
Take care,
BP
FYI - I am using 4" tubes rather than 3" in case you have read or seen pics on the other post concerning this mod..
Interesting...I haven't followed along with this mod. Who's car is it that you're trying to duplicate? Any links to other posts would be helpful. Thanks.
How quick do you think that four burner will be when your done? No seriously I would like to see number compared to a conventional installation. Good Luck. MikeV
Actually I am not trying to "better" the vortex in performance, I am rather trying to make the design of the Vortex safer for use in rain and around water.
No really, I had a Vortex once and had some "trouble" with moisture and I really enjoyed the results from its performace gains. Hence, I am attempting to go with a setup that will "aid" in preventing water from ever reaching the air filter. With this setup, I am NOT cutting the shroud and am allowing the "air box" to seal completely against the shroud.
This weekend was great, as it POURED & POURED on me fairly hard on the road which ended up being a great test. I examined the "airbox" and it didnt have a single drop of water inside.

Hey bparker, keep us posted on the performance gains of the TwinFlow vs the vortex. I'm interested to find the best intake. I'll keep you posted on my results as well. Together maybe we can make something to take down the price of the vortex later.
