how often should you change the trans fluid in a MN6?
Mobil 1 or AMS?
My Owner's Manual states: Manual transmission fluid doesn’t require change.

To properly change the fluid in the MN6, it should be flushed. This will take about 12 quarts... and the proper flush machine. If you live near a dealer you can TRUST, let them do it. It will be a much better job than a drain and re-fill at home.
I have an 02 MN6 coupe and since they day I brought her home with 43k miles I have been hearing a rattling noise from the rear end when shifting gears. I was told this was natural for a C5. Was I lied to and does this sound mean I need to flush and replace the differential fluid??
T56 trannys have low-rpm gear noise (mine's around 1000-1300 rpm) that sounds like a rattle. Assuming that's what you're hearing, everything's fine.
Other than that, give us more details.
HTH, and have a good one,
Mike
I'll pay more attention to what RPM I am running when I hear the rattle and let you know what I find; thanks for your input Either way I am thinking that I will go ahead and drain and refill my dif fluid this weekend while I have the car up on jacks replacing the rotors, calibers, pads and brake fluid.
