Hey guys. I think I'll be going with a supercharger setup...the turbo just seems like too much money and I think I'd have to go with a twin turbo setup if i went with a turbo and i just think thats going to add up to high....so I think I'll take the supercharger route....so for the next question what kind of supercharger is the best???..most reliable, highest increase in horsepower etc... thanks a bunch guys greatly appreciated
I really like my set up (SEE SIGNATURE & PROFILE PIC)...had it on since Nov 2005..no problems..best hp bang for my bucks... I have same back flow set up as you, except I have B&B PRTs...very pleased. about 7 grand installed & dyno tuned...
check out the STS remote mount turbo kits. I think they start around $6800.00 totally bad a$$. I want a STS kit so baaaaaddddd
Yea, *start* at. I see you're in the Detroit area. If you want to check out a real turbo car shoot me a note.
As for the original poster asking about superchargers, I think the ECS Novi 2000 setup is the nicest on the market. It has the best head-unit, easiest to maintain (uses engine oil so you don't have to fill the blower head-unit separately), makes excellent power, and appears to be much easier on the belts than ProChargers (probably because of the internal gear configuration).
The ECS kit is around $6,500 and that is complete with injectors and fuel pump. Chris or Doug from ECS (609)752-0321 can answer your technical questions.

Okay so far I've looked into Magnusin (tbryne)??? and Vortech (VTTRAPN)?? Whats better between the two?? Any other supercharger (name of supercharger) i should look at before going with one? (WHICH ONE DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND?????) like ive said before this corvette is my first car and i always wanted a corvette so i plan on keeping this car for a very long time so i want one of the best supercharger kits around. (it will be a weekend driver starting next year
The ECS Paxton setup is $6,500 + $1,500 or so for install and tune.
Everything you need is included in the kit. You really don't need a cam, heads, long tube headers, etc to max out the stock bottom end.
Even with my heads/cam, Lt's....etc, I'm tempted. I even have a brand new built tranny & HD 3.90 gears to handle the power but I'm thinking that my car's too old? Maybe I should just wait to buy new with good power & excellent reliability. Of course the possibility that my bottom end detonates is a factor
I have the vortech kit, installed it myself , solved the belt throwing problem, no issues otherwise. They back up there units and you can easily upgrade the head unit.
