Default Tranny Help

Hi Gang, Need some help on my Tranny problem. My 1st gear syncro is almost gone and 2nd gear syncro is not doing that well, and I've also got clutch chatter. My biggest problem is cash flow, can't send it to the dealer at this time. I'm thinking of doing it myself, but I'm not sure of the scope of work involved. Can someone point me to a thread or web site that describes this kind of repair?

If you have the tools to get it (trans) out of the car, you probably have the ability to replace the syncros. You need to have new syncros in hand, and you might have to buy a snap ring plier or two, but the job is not hard at all. Make sure you take pictures of the assembly so you can get it all back together right, and also, don't lose any of the ***** that will likely fall out as you tear the tranny apart.

I've never done the vette manual trans, but I highly doubt it is much different than my old toploader 4 speed in basic construction. The job ain't hard.
