My drivers headlight is acting wierd, but I don't now if it's the motor, control or gears.
It sticks down. When I put the headlights up, it won't move. I have to twist the cap and it'll go up...but when I do twist it, it's very tight.
After loosening the cap, it'll go up ride fine and go down without ANY gear noise at all. Is the motor bad or the motor control? Seems their should be a limit switch or something to prevent the motor from torquing down that tight.
Check the 2 plastic stops on either side of the pivot arm that the motor spins to move the headlights. It may have spun too far and not "stopped" at the plastic stops (usually caused by wear) and in doing so is now stuck and not able to spin in the proper arc to work correctly.
If one of your stops is damaged grab one from the spot located on top of the headlight assembly (just below your painted cover in the rear) and swap it with the damaged one.
I swapped the plastic clips and this time is snugged down at tight as my wifes legs! I messed up the gear unscrewing it (the headlight motor). Now I guess I'm looking for a new motor.
