Automatic transmission stuck in park
I have a 98 C5 I purchased used from a dealer 4 years ago I have discovered by reading the informative forum here that I do not have the steering column modification still locks wheel. Have not seen the error code as yet with 63000 miles on car Have recently experienced an automatic transmission problem Insert key and steering column unlocks but will not come out of park while depressing the locking mechanism on the shifter and foot on brake. I have read in a forum here that tapping on the shift indicator may release and it does. It then allows it to sift into gear. Can anyone tell me what is the possible problem is to being unable to shift from park once released transmission runs fine just stuck in park.
