Racetronics kit compatable with my Z16??
I have the post in the FI section, but had no replies so I thought I would try it here.
Getting ready to upgrade the fuel system on my 04 Z16 with the returnless system and was wondering if I could use the Racetronics kit??
I have looked at the ECS kit and may go to that later after going FI, but would like something now to support my short term goals.
Any other suggestions would be welcomed!!
Thanks!!
Racetronix has posted here in the past. Look em up. Let us know what you find.
Ractronics fuel pump wont work in a 2004. Just add a boost a pump...Its good to 500-530rwhp after that you need the ECS fuel system. I've been through all of that already on my 2004...Did you reuse your fuel rail covers ??
Any pics??
I am thinking of going with their Paxton kit, did you but the blower kit seperate from the pump kit?? How do you like the blower??
Any more info that you can shoot me would be a BIG help!!
I went from a Magnacharger to the ECS Paxton. I did the blower install first. At the time I just had a boost a pump and at the dyno my fuel pressure was droping down to 48psi and we stoped the pulls at 6000rpm to be safe.As for the fuel system, I made my own system similar to theirs. If I had to do it again, I would just buy theirs. I ended up having about $1300 in just parts and 50+ hours of design research on the internet and about 8 hours install time. My buddy just installed the ECS kit on his 99' Vette and it works great. If you give Chris or Doug a call at ECS the can go into detail about the fuel install differences on a 2004.
The paxton kit took me about 12 hrs to install, but I would expect a shop to charge about 16hrs..I already had my front end apart from taking the Magnacharger off...
Here is a few pics of mine...I made the coil covers myself.

The only thing I am concerned about is (I know!!) loosing the clean look under the hood by loosing the FRC's.
What kind of bottom end are you running?? Forged??
Thanks again!!
Chris
and
at the local car shows and get togethers when people look under the hood. Still on stock motor with a small blower cam and headers. I am putting together a forged motor in my garage now. I'm going to add Alki and up the boost to 15psi. 800wrhp here I come..
I made the 617rwhp at 10psi and 6000rpm and the graph was going straight up.
To bad we had to stop the dyno because of the fuel pressure at the time. I'm going to add Alki and redyno before I do the new motor sometime around christmas..
