As for mods, I believe the Hurst shifter has been delayed again. You might as well get the B&M Ripper, I love it. Get a new shift **** at the same time too, I like the Momo, but there are plent of good ones to choose from. As for cold air induction, you have a few choices, with the Vortex Rammer, and the Halletech TRIC being the most popular. Basically, it's like this: They both give about a 15hp gain, the Halletech looks a little cooler, but costs twice as much. The Vortex is about $250, and I've been very happy with mine. As for good prices, go to the forum mall, and do a search for each item, just pick the cheapest vendor! Easy as that. Dont' know much about NOS, just make sure to get it installed correctly, and it should be perfectly safe though. Have fun with the new mods, these might be the first, but they won't be the last! :D
Cold Air and Non-Cold Air. Cold Air yields more RWHP but has the "slightly" greater risk of water ingestion. Water ingestion happens with stock systems as well, and BOTH are NOT covered under warranty. It's simply a insurance, flood damage issue. So, IMO, cold air is the way to go. It's probalby wise not to ask which cold air kit is the best because virtually all of the perform EXACTLY the same HP/TQ wise, so it boils down to price and aesthetics. You have Halltech TRIC, very cool looking, and Vortex are the two biggie cold air intakes. Also, MTI has one, ProFlow, etc. For no cold air, you can get the Donaldson (the most popular on here I believe), RM Twin Flow, K&N, etc, cheaper than cold air kits and a little less HP/TQ and you have the same risk of water ingestion as your stock intake. The best place to get these items is from supporting vendors of course
. They go out of their way to make us happy and they help support this wonderful forum! Good luck. BTW, the TRIC is pretty tight :p:
