Longtube header 'problem'
Have a '04 LS2 coupe with K&N intake, Dynatech long tube headers, hi-pro cats, x-pipe and Borla Stingers..
Bought the Longtubes from TSP who failed to send the correct extensions (-04) for the front sensors (cat) so we lengthed the stock ones. All went well till the check engine light came on.
Checking the codes indicated bad sensor reading, we determined the driver side was the bad one so we pulled and checked it looked good, ohmed good, had been in a little heat so we insulated it and reinstalled.
After about 15 miles, check engine again, this time indicating the cats are bad, (Nose backed that one up as the smell was terrible).
Decided to buy an HP tuner and set after the problem..
Any thoughts?
Thanx Toms04
It is a pretty common issue with headers and hi flow cats.
If you have HP tuners you can turn off the codes for your rear o2 sensors so it won't set off your check eng. light.
I am not sure what would cause the smell...
