hood liner needed?????

hood liner needed?????

I trashed a belt on the car and as it was whipping around it trashed my hood liner. Is it needed or will the heat from the motor hurt the hood paint any?.

I have been running without mine for two years....with a centrifugal SC and headers (lots of heat) with no problem!

shipping is very costly on one of these things. best thing to do is order one from a local chevy dealer that will give you some sort of discount. ordered one several years ago, and think i paid something like $80-85

...try RMS AUTO PARTS.com for a hood liner. He doesn't charge the typical inflated shipping charge that some sources do and they're genuine GM hood liners. He doesn't ship them folded in half like some sources do, either.
I just bought the huge one for my '96 Impala SS, price about $80 with a very reasonable shipping charge.
