i have seen the fbody croud put together a DIY manual fan switch, so i looked at the wiring that we have and its totally diff. from what i can tell anyway.
hmmm..interesting.
what im looking to do is have the ability to manually turn the high speed fans on and off at will when i feel its warranted.
does that help?
There is a part called a " constant fan moniter controller ". I just happen to have one that I ordered and never used. Mid America sells them for $199. The only thing is it is supposed to mounted in the engine compartment, which makes adjustments rather difficult. It seems to me you are looking to makes these adjustments from inside the car at will. You can always add some wire to the moniter and run it into the car through the fire wall and mount it somewhere in the cabin. The little box has a pot on it for adjustments. You could probably glue some sort of **** on the pot to make adjustments rather easiy. I am not going to use mine & if you are interested, let me know.
Do you have a link that I can read to see how it works?
It seems pretty simple. I splices into some wires in the engine compartment and has a temp. probe the goes in between the radiator fins. Looks like a piece of cake! All the vendors carry these. Little variences maybe, but basicly the same concept. I think I got mine from MidAmerica.
Sorry guys, will send out my wiring diag tonight when I get home. Got busy at work yesterday. The wiring diag above will probably work, but is overkill. Just use a switch to control the relay that's already there. Just be careful to isolate between your switch and the PCM control lines - COOLFAN1 and COOLFAN3.
