Default Help with skip shift problem

Just yesterday i got in my car only to find out that the check engine light was on. So i proceeded to check the codes to find a PCM code PO803. Anybody out there know what the fix on that one is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the associated fuse, (#19 in the engine fuse block) but since that also powers the reverse inhibit solenoid and you don't have any codes for that, the fuse is likely OK.

Check the solenoid connector - it's on the driver's side of the transmission about 2/3 of the way up. The connector may have come loose or a wire may have been broken. If you don't have a CAGS Eliminator, now would be the time to install one. If you already have one installed on that connector, it's possible it went bad and needs to be replaced.

Thank you both, i just crawled under the car and sure enough the CAGS Eliminator was burnt up from sitting on the exhaust. Next ? the guy that owned the car before me had it put on i guess, so where would i find another because i really liked it.

Very common accessory - most all the aftermarket vendors carry it. Shop around for best price or make your own (it's just a resistor basically) - I've seen DIY how-tos here if you're so inclined, or else spend the $20 for a new eliminator.

Instead of installing the CAGS with the supplied plastic zip tie, use a rubber insulated ADEL clamp found in any electrical aisle (ACE, TRUE VALUE, HOME DEPORT, LOWE'S) .
Use a #10 or #12 clamp and secure it to the same recommended transmission ear with a 1/4-20x1" bolt/nut. The transmission gets to hot to install the plastic CAGS w/o potential for damage.
