Where is the best place to run cut outs? What concerns should I have running cut outs besides the obvious water issue? Let me know some insight guys. Post up your under carriage pics if you have them.
running "open" cut outs some times is a no no in the rain.
I agree, because when the cutout are open they sound so good your foot tends to stay on the floor, and with 400+ HP can be a no no in the rain!
Other than that I seen no reason it makes any difference when the cutouts are open or closed.
As for the best place, they will pretty much only fit in two places under a C5. The back between the mufflers and the area around the transmission. I think in the back is the best. But I went with them under the trans because I couldn't make them fit in the back with my factory Ti cat back.

Nice set up. Where did you get the turn downs? Are those QTP cut outs? Thanks for the pics

Thanks , I put a lot of time in those. Those turn downs are stainless steel 2.5" pipe mandrel bent 90 degree bends I picked up on eBay. They were positioned down and back then sawed off flush with the bottom of the car. The short straight sections were cut from a 1' straight stainless steel pipe I got from the same seller on eBay. Could not find anyone who sold stainless steel flanges so I milled those out myself. I think QTP sells stainless flanges now. Did all the welding on the inside of the pipe for a clean look. Every thing you see there is bead blasted bare stainless steel, no paint, no coatings. The cutouts are McCord power plates. They are installed in a 3" LG X-pipe.
