Where in the Owners manual can I find the normal operating temperatures for the Transmission fluid (A4), oil temp, coolant temp? i was getting a transmissiom temp of 199 yesterday and that seems high. Thanks in advance. :chevy
Owner's manual: Overtemp warning will come on if auto trans temp exceeds 270' or is rapidly approaching 270'. If you get the warning, take it easy until temp drops below 230'.
One of the techs who posts here recommended no aggressive driving until auto trans temp 100' or greater.
If you try running an A4 on a road course, you will get the overtemp warning in just a few laps, so an extra cooler is almost mandatory. I put on the biggest B&M available (except the racing unit, which you don't want) and after 30 minutes of really flogging it at Mid Ohio, outside temp 90', my trans only hit 250'.
