this is my opine if over 50000 miles dont service it its too late if under youre doing good. i may be wrong but i dont think the trans calls for syn fluid. look at owners man. or go to dealer and buy gm fluid. by the way the service if youre gonna do it has a procedure ya have to follow its no easy good luck
Some people swear by the Synthetic ATF and others say stay away. I have read magazine articles and read posts from several others on Synthetic ATF glazing the Clutch Paks on the 4l60e causing excessive slippage. This is a highly debated subject. My Transmission went out at 38000 miles shortly after a change to Synthetic ATF. Was it the Synthetic ATF?? Anyhow,, just wanted to make you aware that this is a highly debated subject and lots of folks use the sythetics with no problems, so you can make your own descision .. Good Luck... Here is another Synthetic ATF link.. Do a search and you will find more http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...=synthetic+atf

thanks David and Censo ----- my coupe is not a race car....just a Grand Tourer. So....I'll likely go to a Chevy dealer and do Dextron VI with the flush and fill.
Just want that trans to live another six years!
BTW, the B&M flat plate cooler that Andy of A&A installed did lower the temp 20+ degrees. Yet to exceed 195, formerly saw 220 climbing into Sequoia Nat Park on a 100 degree summer day.
