I am thinking about using this on my older vehicles. Yes or No? I tried it in my POS 91 Geo Prizm and I am not sure if it's psychological thing but the car seems a bit more responsive.
I've had nothing but positive results from using Engine Restore. It's done miracles for an old beater that barely ran at all, made it run smooth for a about a week or so. Other cars in better condition have just run somewhat smoother... can't prove anything though. :blueangel:
I don't believe in products like this . I tried it once and yes , there was a measurable improvement . Don't know how it works , but it does. I guess it coats the cyl wall for better compression.. I suppose thats why it blew the other guy's engine. It(the rod) just couldn't take the extra compression. It does work???????
I have used the Restore product in an "86 Mustang GT that I had that was 10 years old. When I sold the Mustang it had 225K and still ran good. I would recommend the product because it did reduce oil consumption and I feel like it help the engine hold up as well as it did. Willl start using in in my '92 Honda Accord next year as well. It currently has 167K and hopefully it will hang around a bit longer as well.
I say all of this to say "Go for it!' I've used it before and will do it again! :seeya
I have had great results on my Nissan Beater. I have 180,000 miles on her. I figured what the hell!.
Before the restore she had a bad idle vbration when in gear at a light. She would shake like "Kathrine Hepburn in a paint mixer" I stole that line from another post...:D
After Restore. I gradually got better about 100 miles later. Now she is quiet as a church mouse. It's worth a crummy $6 to find out for yourself.
Thanks for the replies! Looks like a mixed bag of reviews. So, far the car runs great. Again, not a signficant improvement but some. I have a 91 Geo Prizm (aka Toyota Corrolla) with 140K miles and I believe these cars are built to last -- with routine maintenance.
I used it on my '79 Monte Carlo with the 305 back in high school. I felt a SOTP difference, but you have to keep adding it with each oil change to keep the compression up.
