Key FOB learning problem!
Hey guys,
I have replaced the battery in my 99 Key FOB and went through the learning process. The DIC records that it has been learned, the key FOB only works for a few minutes and then does not work. I have to press both the lock unlock buttons for about 9 seconds and the horn chirps twice and once again it works for only a few mins. Is it a bad FOB or is the problem bigger?

Hi Steve, I think I would suggest that you carefuly clean the battery contacts in the FOB (use a pencil eraser) and make sure it is making good contact with the battery. If that doesn't fix it, then you may need to rplace the FOB. If you have a 2nd FOB, or if you have a b=uddy with a 97 - 99, you can validate that the source of the problem is the FOB (i.e. if you have a 2nd remote and it works OK, then the receiver is working - must be the FOB)

While you're at it, carefully bend to battery contacts so they put more pressure on the battery. When the FOB is bumped it momentarily loses contact and therefore loses sync with the car.
