Default Where to get gears?

I currently have 3.15s and I believe that means I can go to 3.90 or 4.10 without having to change the entire rear end, whereas I would've had to if I had the 2.73s. My question is where can I get the gears? Do they have them in a parts catalog, and are they Corvette specific? Also, has anyone done this? I'm curious because everything I've read thus far is about people changing the entire differential, and I'd prefer to just change the gears in order to save some $$$.

Default gears

Do a search here on the forum about gears. I doubt that you will save money by changing just the ring and pinion gears. First off, unless you have a press and a few hundred dollars worth of specials tools for the job, you will not be able to do it yourself. Secondly, you can buy a brand new diff for around $1200, sell your 3:15s for $400-500 and just change out the diffs. This gives you new gears, bearings, seals, and a new posi instead of using your old ones. Much better deal IMHO.
