I just installed a set of Magnecor Competition Spark Plug Wires (Electrosports 70 7mm Ignition Cables) to replace the factory wires after 21,000 miles. What a tremendous difference. The car feels stronger and the measurable difference is in the highway MPG.
Las week I averaged about 27 MPG on th PA turnpike going over to Carlisle from the Philadelphia area. Yesterday, after the wire change, I averaged 29.5 MPG going over to Atlantic City to have lunch with a friend who had taken a bus down from New England to pick up his new Z06 at Kerbeck. Now there is a CORVETTE STORE!!!
I ordered direct from Magnecor (248-669-6688) and paid only $53.98 for the set. I pretty good price and that investment should pay off very quickly.

I am glad that your wires turned out to be such a positive for your car and fuel milage. When I replaced my Factory wires with the Magnacore wires and plugs I felt absolutely nothing. :(
But I have to admit... the Magnacore Wires do look cool with the Be Cool Heat Socks on them!

I dont want to bust your bubble.. 27 mpg going to Carlisle.. I live about ten minutes from you Jim.. Carlisle is up in the mountains of Pa.. less air and lots a hills.. I go to Atlantic city ( Showboat ) every weekend.. I average 33 mpg every week. My car has 37000 miles on the original wires..and it runs great.. So getting 29 mpg is not anything to brag about considering The Atlantic City expressway is about 2 feet above sea level.. and you can almost roll a marble from Philly to AC.. is is so flat.. IM not flaming you..your just not comparing apples to apples.. many people here get 32 33 34 mpg... you can't take a better trip to get high milage than the trip from Philly to AC... its so flat..

I run magnecor wires. They are superior wires in every way.
Go to http://www.magnecor.com and read about resitive enhancing coatings other manufacturers use, and also pay attention to how measuring a wires resistance to compare performance is not that important. Basically because the resistive enhancing coatings break down rapidly in other wires, and that low resistive value is gone, and arching occurs between windings. Magnecor uses 200 microscopic wound windings per inch and no coatings.
When you fire 30K+ volts down a conductor, and lot of unforseen physics are introduced, that a volt ohm meter cant measure.

I agree, it isn't an apples to apples compairson, but the regular driving about town has also gone up about 2 MPG, and those ARE the same roads. Also no braging intended just an observation that I believe was significant and possibly useful to the analytical type out there. Who knows, maybe you can increase you MPG to 36 or more!!!!!!!!
Rod: There is no radio nose with the Magnecor wires. The only negative with this change over was getting the left rear plug wire off. There's just no room for my hand to get a grip on that wire.

Fancy Spark Plugs and Spark Plug Wires are a gimick. Unless yours are just plain worn out save your money and take your sweetheart out to dinner :yesnod:
Re: Magnecor Plug Wires--What a difference!! (BlackTieC5)
In all the controlled studies (tests performed on the same engine under the same conditions) of different plug wires reported in both car and motorcycle magazines I've read over the years, I've never seen a significant difference in performance--UNLESS replacing faulty components. Point of fact, one fairly recent report stated that wires sold by many different companies are actually made by only a few manufacturers with the sole difference often being wire color. However, I'm sure some may outlast others, over the longrun. It would be interesting to know which.

I plan on getting TPIS long tubes soon and was wondring if I'd have any problems with the Magnecors getting burned? Any other suggestions for someone that will be putting headers on soon? Thanks! :chevy
