Well, ever since my C5 slid off the road from the crappy tires, I have had a slight rattle above the driver's sun visor. It is finally BUGGING THE HELL OUT OF ME. It's not real loud, or frequent, but it is nagging.
Is there any item in the latch assembly, or along the headrail of the windshield that could "come loose"?

Re: Coupe Top Rattle...Help??? (Blue Thunder)
Try some lubricant. Take the top off and lube the rubber on the top and on the car. Reattach the top. See if that helps. If not, there is another "fix" that has been mentioned on the forum requiring tightening. Maybe someone will respond...
I have the same problem, but lubeing usually helps.
Try isolating the two surfaces of the latch mechanism with a business card or something similar. After experiencing the same thing and after several trips to the dealer for adjustment and lubes, this was the only way I found to permanently end the annoyance...
I think it was C5 Tech that gave me the magic advise:
You need to tighten the bolts on the latches.. You have to slip a box-end wrench behind the latch to get to them.. I found 1/4 - 1/2 turn of play there. Tightened them and voila! No annoying rattles at all!
Wish I had a picture.. but with the top off, look between windshield and the latch body.. There are 2 bolts in there!
These bolts are on the car, not the top. They attach the latches to the windshield frame. They are 10mm bolts. There are 2 on each latch. You have to pull the molding back a little to get the wrench on them. You must have the top out to even see them.
