I can help you. The short answer is no.

Don't ask people who just had speed work done, ask them a year and 15,000 miles from now, and ask if it's their daily driver on top of that.

I have enough friends with either heads and cam on their Z06, or superchargers -- they're always fixing something, or telling you about what just happened to the car.

My car really is a daily driver, and that's why I kept the mods simple and limited.

Selling the stock Z06 was the worst daily driver decision you ever made. Your year/model was pretty much bullet proof, with 405 horsepower to boot.

If you want more horsepower with reliability, get a C6 Z06.

There are many people doing this up to 550, and some higher.

Probably head and cam would be the most reliable overall. I had a Head and Cam package in my car for 2 years and it was quite reliable. I took the car on many long trips without having any problems what so ever.
When it was Head and Cam I was making about 440RWHP through a 4:10 gear set and high flo cats with TI exhaust. The car was always reliable and ran well and got decent gas mileage. My H&C was not what would be considered to be very radical by todays standards. Be forwarned though, the more radical you go and the more power you make, you compromise reliability to a certain degree. Everything is a trade off, there are no free rides.

What about a Z06 built by a company like Lingenfelter???? are they still relaible as a stock Z06???

I have a friend with a Supercharged Saleen Mustang, he use it as a daily driver, track day and on the drag strip, Drive it as hard as he can and never had any trouble or change anything, just normal services.

As I don't want a mustang I was hoping that I could get the same kind a reliability with a Turbo or supercharged Z06.

I need to buy a new vette, but know don't know if I need to go for stock or modified.

My turbo camaro is an f'ing nightmare. It costs me in general $300/mo and 25hours/month average in parts and labor. It is powerful as hell, but if I drive it to work 5 days in a row, something will break, get out of calibration, come loose, wear out, etc...

Lingenfelter is the only company I would trust to have an FI daily driver.

500-700hp just from heads cam is gonna be wild. The car will cam lope like your ******* in the back. Not a good DD if you ask me.

my $.02: for a 600hp daily driver, get a set of outstanding heads, and a moderate cam, plus all the supporting mods. Then get a rockin 2 stage 200hp nitrous setup. You'll have your power on tap, but the car will be mild enough to DD without a ton of problems and Maintenence.

If your looking for reliability and power I suggest you only consider increasing the cubic inches. You can have a 404, 427, 434, or even a 441 ci engine with all forged parts that will give you low, mid and high end power with the torque to go along with it. I have a MTI Racing 427 blueprinted forged engine(bullet proof) that has well over 15,000 mile with nary a problem as a daily driver. I have well over 500 rwhp and 500 rwtq.

You have a few options here:

1. Build a meium mannered large cube motor i.e. 500 rwhp 427. Longevity will be determined by the cam and valvetrain components you choose.

2. Build a rock solid FI car w/ a forged motor. When you putzing to work the maggie has aboose bypass, the centrifugal blowers won't be making any boost, and a turbo setup will also be out of boost.

A radical H/C is the last thing I'd do for reliability. The key w/ FI is having a built motor w/ forged components and lower compression. It's those trying to get 550+ rwhp out of a stock bottom end LSX that have issues.
