I have developed a fuel leak at the fuel filter for a 1997 C5. I have read some of the other post and seen a picture of fuel filter GF822 that seems to have two inlet and one outlet. On my vehicle the fuel filter has only one inlet. The numbers I can read on the side of the filter say GM102443. I cannot tell if there are any other numbers. Can anyone tell me the proper part number? Thanks in advance.
I couldn't tell from your post whether or not you're aware that the '97-'98 Vette has a return style fuel system. This type of fuel system has the fuel pressure regulator mounted in the engine compartment on the fuel distribution rails at the intake manifold. The fuel filter used with this system (yours) only has one inlet and one outlet. '99 thru mid '03 Vettes have a returnless style fuel system which incorporates the fuel pressure regulator into the fuel filter, necessating two nipples on the inlet side of the fuel filter. One of these is your return line from the fuel pressure regulator mounted internally in the fuel filter back to the fuel tank. The '97-'98 system (which you have) is generally considered around the forum to be the better system for high performance use. By the way, the one in /one out filter (which you have) can be purchased from your Chevy dealer for less than $15.00. Be glad you don't have the two in /one out filter as it costs about $45.00. Sorry, I purchased mine over two years ago and don't remember the part number. Just make sure that the parts guy knows that you have a "97. Don't let him sell you the more expensive one (two in /one out).

Drivers side rear,Kind of above where the tail pipe goes over the axle. Its easy to get at if you take rear exhaust off too,Just the driver's side..................Paul
my 97 filter is on drivers side next to transmission in front of rear drivers tire, inside the hump area next to torque tube!!! ...i did it w/o removing exhaust...wasnt easy but got it done,, one line in, one line out....you also have several rubber lines that contain the rear fuel feed tube which has a check valve inside ..inline...real close to the filter that keeps fuel pressure up...check around before you replace the filter it could be several places could easily leak from

Good tips on checking for other leak sources. Also, when installing a new filter, make sure it's clean and dry and put a drop or two of clean engine oil on the nipple prior to sliding it back into the fuel hose fitting.
