See sticky above. I have an 02 & have had the earlier reflash recall (04006?) done. A while back I received a letter from GM announcing the second recall but saying that because my car had the earlier recall, they would not do the second recall unless I actually experienced a column lock problem. And that they would fix for free (new recall) only until XX/08 if it failed before then. I have CLB so no longer an issue for me. I suppose you could tell them you had a problem that forced you to shake the steering wheel back&forth to free up.

Get a CLB (Column Lock Bypass) to cure it once and for all. Apparently, it seems that there have been some problems on the 2nd (most recent) recall too ... something about bad K wire harnesses. Look around here on the board and you'll find so many threads on the column lock recall that it will make your head explode !!

Sorry about missing the 'sticky' I was so POd about being stranded again I didn't spend a lot of time looking around. I should have known you guys would have the answer if I would just look for it. Thanx for you guys that responded. You not only have a great taste in cars, but also have character, an atribute that is on the decline these days.

Thanks again, Mike
