It probably would be easier to just take the seat completely out and flip it over. Go to the archives and look for rocking chair seat fix or seat removal and it should describe in detail how to remove it. It takes about 15 minutes or so. Once it is out you can flip it over and see whats what. The only tip I can offer is dont disconnect the elec harness until you finish moving the seat forward or back to access the bolts holding the seat in place. The seat rack is held onto the seat bottom w/4bolts but unless you cant get at what ever switch you want you may not have to go that far. The leather seat bottom is removeable once the seat back is removed but its on there like a snake skin and once you untie the shoelace like draw string you kinda peel it off. There is no glue holding it on but once its off its a little difficult getting back on and fitting right. Its all doabel tho. I did the rocking chair fix on my dining room table and had to take the seat completely apart. All is well now. Have fun
I have had my driver's seat out about 5 times to fix the rocking of the original seat frame. The electrical connectors that you have to disconnect are the most cryptic to unplug, but you eventually can get them apart. (Why can't they just standardize those things?) BE careful of the leather- if you rest it on something when you are working on it put something soft between it and the thing you rest it on so as not to cut it - it's pretty thin hyde.
You may have a memory issue, or just a connection in the switch a little loose. The seats take a beating because they are so low, and it's hard to let yourself drop down that gently!
I take my passenger seat out weekly when I travel. I prefer to have my suitcase or files on the floor and not behind my head for safety reasons. I don't like it sliding around either.
The seat is held in place by four bolts. The two front bolts / nuts are covered by plastic caps. Pull pins on the plastic caps and pull caps forward to expose front bolts. I don't recall the size of the bolt / nuts ...but it is a standard size.
Loosen and remove the front bolt things. Move the front seat all the way forward on the track to reach the rear bolts, loosen and remove.
Tilt the sear toward the center console to expose the wiring. It's just a male and female plug. Look at it and figure out how to unclip it. You can just see how it works. You can lift the seat out easily if the coupe or vert top is off. Be careful not to hit the interor or paint with the seat tracks.
I can have the seat in or out in about five minutes.
