Being new to the forum, I have scanned the archieves for rocking seats. Since my dealer considers this NORMAL ('Need the slop to allow for movement'... and he tells this to a Mechanical Engineer!!!, I need the number for the technical bulliten. Thanks for the help. :mad
Maher Chevrolet in St. Petersburg, FL. Since all the cars on the lot did it, they consider it normal. It is worse when the front of the seat is elevated and in mid track (front to rear) travel. When I can get the bulliten #, I can educate them. Their supposed to be one of the better Chevrolet Dealers on this coast for Vettes.
There is no bulletin for the rocking seat, but the part has been updated...Dont know the # off the top of my head but sure someone will chime in...553?,533?,something like that... ;)
I just had mine done under warranty 2 weeks ago with great success... I told the dealer that I had a problem with my seat rocking and they gave me absolutely no grief and ordered the seat adjuster, which came in about week. The part number was #88898621... Interesting thing was that they sent my vette out to a seat specialist, which I thought was unusual. Anyways, I am totally satisfied with the results... BTW, the rocking seat is not normal so insist that they fix it or find another dealer... Good luck!
Jesus, I just got my vette back from them also. (Maher) They said my drive line knock is also "normal" WTF is the deal with them lately? Every vette problem is now NORMAL????
