Default CLB does not work on my 00 MN6...???

So I go out to install my CLB from COH and after getting everything out of the way- pulling the stock harness, installing the cig lighter disengaging unit (not hearing any release when key turned to run) installing the bypass anyway and get the "Pull Key wait 10 seconds" warning.

Subsequently my 00 had the recall done by GM- so as a test, I connect the stock harness and guess what??? its working normal...so I say, lets try this again...go back thru the install per the directions...same thing, this time I get the "Service Column Lock" warning in addition...as soon as I go back to stock (pre bypass) the colum unlocks and everything is normal again...

Could the dealer reflash cause this to null my CLB...it will not allow me to install it and use the wheel....

Very strange...

I guess I have a not so used CLB for sale...

If the recall you had is the older one from 2004 that reflashed your PCM and installed a new relay near the BCM, then the CLB will likely not work from what I've read. That relay that GM installed changes the logic and wiring slightly and the BCM isn't compatible.

If you want to install the CLB, you should go back to the dealer and have them perform the current 4006C recall to remove the locking plate and also have them reverse the older recall.

I've had the CLB in my '00 MN6 since I bought it over 6 years ago and never had any issue, but I've also never let GM touch my column lock system.

I have a 2000 MN6 car. I hooked up the CLB, got the same message. shut the car off, pulled the two fuses to reset it, turned the car on again and all has been joyus ever since...

When I installed my COH CLB in my 2002 C5Z, I did not use the cigarette lighter adapter method. I used a procedure that I got from the Forum which relied upon pulling a fuse and then re-inserting it. No problems with that procedure. Here is a link to the procedure that I used.

My car had never had any of the factory CLB recalls done. I just got the car back from having some unrelated warranty work done and I specifically told them not to perform any CLB recalls.
