Has anyone experienced positive gains with the MAF ends. I have a Donaldson intake now, and I was wondering if the addition of MAF ends will boost up performance. Any comments will be greatly appreciated...

Re: Do MAF ends really make a difference? (intel55)
Had them as part of my Halltech system and the car seemed to run strong. Then had a problem with the MAFS itself and replaced it with a stock unit complete with the screen and the car feels stronger (seat of the pants). Will be going to the track later this month to prove this perception. Later...

Many 99-00 C5s go lean with the ends...which can actually degrease HP. They seem to work well on 97-98s. Some people have used them susfully on 99-00s....but I wouldn't attempt it unless you have Autotap to check, and a MAF Translator to adjust for them on 99-00s.

maybe that's why I'm seeing a little lower numbers than I'd hoped for....think I'll switch them back and see what kinda changes I get

I also had ported MAF ends...the only thing I got was knock retard. Switched to the GMS MAF and all my problems were solved (at least those created by aftermarket MAF ends). With MAF ends, unregistered air passes by the MAF sensor creating a lean condition...too lean.

Raysvette- i tried them on my 98 M6. I felt an immediate loss of power. I tried the relearn & drove it for a week. Hated it. It lost that SOTP jolt when i hit 3000rpm. Switched back to the stock ends & ran great. I had the screen removed before i did the MAF ends, & that worked great. I'm told you need the MAFT to make them work right, but I don't have one & don't know anyone who does. Good luck- SCOTT
Re: Do MAF ends really make a difference? (Raysvette)
The short answer--No. There are no easy, cheap magic bullets to produce "significant" power improvements. Ask those who build competition engines (which I do, as well). If you don't race a lot and are not a very consistent driver, you will never notice the relatively small, high rpm gains that some "easy" mods may produce. And, as noted, some of these mods have down-sides on some cars. The seat-of-the-pants increase that is commonly reported is a common, well documented, psychological phenomenon called "cognitive dissonance," i.e. "I spent all this money it MUST feel different. I KNOW I feel improvement!" Don't believe all the ads. And, no, their claims are not additive, even if accurate. Best of luck!
