Default Memory forgets

I'm having an intermittent problem w/ the memory on my '01 coupe. I set the outer mirrors, telescopic steering wheel position, and drivers seat position then save it in memory. The memory will hold the settings for a variable amount of time - sometimes it will NOT remember the settings overnight, sometimes it will remember the settings overnight, but forget them during the day.

For instance, I got in my car this morning, hit Memory 1, and the steering wheel came out and the seat adjusted just fine. Ran around town, shut the car off and when I came back out and started the car up, the memory settings are gone, ie: when I hit memory 1, nothing happens - neither the steering wheel or the drivers seat automatically adjust. So, I have to adjust the steering wheel and seat manually, save the setting again, and repeat the routine.

The car battery is BRAND NEW, functioning properly and fully charged. The ONLY codes I have are P1133 and P1153, which are rich/lean O2 sensor codes (I believe) and which are due to header install. These codes shouldn't have anything to do w/ the memory problem, I don't believe.

Anybody have any ideas?

I have that same damn problem. Ever since I got a new battery. Sometimes it remembers, sometimes not. I always use my fob to unlock and some days i'll get in to a whole other seat and window position. Hitting any of the 3 settings does not bring me back to my setting even though i've programmed all three settings the same. Hitting each of the settings will move the mirrors a little bit, but never back to what was set. Some days my pass. mirror will be a little too low. Other days..too high or too far out or down. Very annoying.

There is a problem with my driver's side control panel. Sometimes it loses connection because the lights go out and none of the buttons work. I get it working fine after fiddling with the wires between the door and dash and it works fine for a while. Could a bad connection with the control panel cause the loss of memory?

If anyone has a clue, please help.

Same prob with my 00. Original battery. If I lock the car with the fob and open with same it retains the settings most of the time. Sometimes not.
Very annoying.

some of the electrical threads list this forgetting as a symptom of a bad ground on the circuit. My car does the same, and I have to reconfigure the fob every couple of weeks. I'm going to do the ground connector cleaning to see if it helps

Make sure your battery terminals are clean and tight. Do not overtighen them, it can cause leaks. 11 ft-lbs is the spec.
