Just had to replace one myself took it to the stealership and they wanted 80$ to have it changed....so instead i found a way to get to it when you pop the hood look imbetween the headlight and the hood down in there, the wire has a latch on it that you just squeez then just turn the bulb and pull it out...then do the opposite to put it in
I did the 885's too because it was the easiest and an upgrade over stock. They cost $5 - $10 a bulb.
Take out the three screws on the sides of your headlight and then remove that shroud. From that point you can reach down in the space and remove the old light and replace the new one. Once you've done it once, it will take you 5 minutes to do again. Might as well replace the other fog light too since it will probably burn out soon too.
Well if we were polling it would be the PIAA's, but I got the sylvania silver stars. What do I know? Now I got the sons in there who knows how to enline them?
There's a reason these lights have the best rep in the industry: they ARE the best. Someone said you could drive at night with them? Hell yeah you can. These fog lights put out nearly that (seriously, very close) of the MAIN LIGHTS. RU Kidiing me? 10/10. Buy them, be happy. They actually serve a function and they look bas a$$ too- what more do you want.
I spend my $ on speed: 408, dual stage N02 (300shot), full exhaust and drivetraine ect ect.=800+RWHP.
For looks I've gotten: tint, rims and fog lights. They were all equally worthy. If you enjoy good lighting (the background to the BMW 500 lights?-stunning) then really do consider these PIAA's.
Psssst! The PIAA 1100x's are bright because they are NOT, repeat, NOT fog lights. They are Driving lights. There is a difference. Fog lights have a different function than driving lights.
Yep, the PIAA 1100x are every bit as bright as the OEM lights by themselves. The bulbs do tend to not last too long. Expect 1.5 years of life/bulb depending on use.
Thanks for all your help. I get it the PIAA are the best. I put the sylvania silver stars in for now. They are an improvement. Will go with the PIAA's next time. Thanks agian for everyone thoughts.
Saw 880 blue halogens on ebay along with blue low beams with a price of $9.95
Looked up 880 bulbs ONLY 29 watts
What about 885 bulbs at 50 watts
Sylvania halogens at my local parts store
Dont have to remove headlight plastic bezel
or bottom under panel
JUST open headlights then put go to park to keep them off and REACH down WITH YOUR HAND AND REMOVE SOCKET THEN TWIST BULB COUNTERCLOCKWISE.
Can do this in less than 5 mins.
