Default Brief Explanation needed on Fuel Filter...

OK all,

Can anyone explain the fuel filter/regulator setup on on C5s?

I see we have two lines coming in and one going out on the filter itself. I'm assuming this has to do with the built-in regulator/return issue but would like some clarification as I'm adding an inline booster pump and want to make sure I tap the correct line ahead of the filter.

Thx.

Just an aside here, if you're removing the fuel lines that go to the filter, can you take a pic or tell me where you can get the tool to remove the fuel lines from the filter? Thanks, FRPTech

C5Noir,

I've been user there a few times. Incoming side of the fuel filter uses standard quick connect fittings. They have blueish colored clips on the end of the fitting - just squeeze'em with a small pliers and pop the lines off just be careful not to break them. Outgoing side of the filter uses the Quick Connect fitting off a braided line - similar to what you see on your fuel rail - you need a "fuel disconnect tool" for this. Its basically a small plastic ring with a sleeve that slides into and pops the connection. They are available at Pep Boys and most other national auto part chains for like $8 for a set of various sizes.
