I'm installing my LG street series headers and have a stupid question. Can I reuse my intake manifold gasket and valve cover gasket after I remove them to install the headers? Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before I start doing the installation. Thanks.
Valve cover gasket is more of an o-ring than a traditional gasket; i popped the valve cover to put the LG's in and put it back on with same gasket/o-ring w/ no ill effects.
Intake manifold, I dunno. This tech tip on replacing oil sensor indicates you can re-use intake gaskets:
Do mean your exhaust gasket? There is no reason to remove the intake to install the headers. You may not have to remove the valve covers either - my headers went right in from the top with the valve covers installed.
The answers are: Yes, you can reuse the stock exhaust manifold gasket if they are in good shape. The stock metallic gaskets are superior to the after market versions. No, you should use new valve cover gaskets.
Had Lg Motorsports install LT Pro Headers at Carlisle and they went in from the bottom both sides and Valve Cover did not have to be removed. Spark plugs and some of the wiring harness to be able to reach bolts.
