Anyone know of the best way to do this? Everytime i drive the car about 30-40 miles, and then pull into the gas station to get something to drink or whatever, it wont start back up. This started a little after changing the headers. Anyone else had this problem and have a good solution?
You can buy a starter shield from Summit racing...or go to Lowes or Home depot and buy an insulating cover for a barbeque pit (for a lot less) and cut it up and install. I've done both on my C4 and C5, the barbeque pit option was a lot cheaper and not hard to install.
I'm relatively new to C5/Z06 technology myself, so this might not work with an LS motor (I don't know why not). First, as suggested, confirm all electrical connections to be secure and uncompromised. I'm not a fan of "wraps" which usually only mask the issue rather than cure it.
In street rods and "old technology" high HP and compression ratio cars we use a Ford type solenoid to take the load off the electrical system (starter switch and starter solenoid). That will cure any hot start issue for sure. You can check with MADD ENTERPRISES electrical guru Mark Harmon regarding the remote solenoid.

I too am familiar with the ford system. I'm really hoping its just a loose wire.
