I massaged my stock Ti's into a two tip design with a splitter in between. 2.5 inch dia exit with a 1.75 inch dia straight through bypass. No interior resonance. Check out the video for the look and sound. http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...ent=z06vid.flv
I built the diffuser from 1/8th aluminum plate. My son welds the titanium for me. Welding it is similar to stainless steel, the main difference is the availability of titanium welding wire. It is very hard to locate and very expensive.
Scotty, Seats were made by Caravagio for a black custom roadster ZO6 on his web site, they were removed from that car and sold on the forum about a year and a half ago, when I pruchased them from a member in Canada.
Adam, the splitter weighs about a pound, I installed three 6mm nut serts into my steel cross box member, this is the side to side box tubing that without the rear facia on the car it would look like a pickup truck bumper. I then used long 6 mm bolts with aluminum spacers to draw the splitter tight to the box member without touching the facia.
As far as fabricating them, every set of exhaust tips would really need a dedicated size to make the fin to fin to tip spacing visually appropiate. My goal was to mount my exhaust tips as spread out as possible and flush to the lines of the facia. It is hard to see in the video, but I rotated the tips about 40 degrees so the tips are parallel to the cars centerline while the slash cut plane angles toward the rear wheel on each side. This left maximum real estate between the tips for the splitter.
A simple looking part like the splitter takes a fair amont of time for each individual unit to be made and unless a universal mass produced model could be made, it would be costly.
Folks, John and I have been friends for a long time. About some time ago I was desperatly looking for something that would sound exotic and not just being loud with a lot of resonance. I had LG LT PRO system on my car with Borla Stingers and some who have heard the system can attest that it could get rather loud. Dont get me wrong, I love loud but NOT all the time.
I did NOT want to go with the cutout route and I had heard TSP Headers without Cats with stock Ti. It was good and very close to what I wanted but just not close enough. Thats when I thought about Just Enough
I knew about John's skill with welding Titanium. I contacted him and and explained what I wanted and asked him a favor if he could fabricate something for me in his spare time.
He contacted me in a few days and said that he made something for me that I would just absolutely love. I can be picky at times and was somewhat skeptical but what John sent me was beyond my expectations. His welding skills with Titanium is just amazing. He fabricated a system for me with 1.75" by pass tubes (also of titanium) and welded everything up. Basically its A&A mod but on a car with LG LT PRO without cats and John's system my car is dead quiet at 70 MPH in 6th gear at cruising. At idle, it tells you that the car is definately modded. Anything below 2500 RPMS turn heads and anything over 3k to redline... all hell breaks loose........
John, your car looks astonishing and sounds amazing and I love the whole package!
Once again, Thankyou so much
