Hi,
I purchased a 1998 with seat tracks that have play in them. What do you recommend? The local chevy dealer wants $600 for drivers side and $900 for passenger side replacement.
thanks Bob

I used this fix, used leather instead of metal washers in figure 7 as the component worn out is rubber.
not a hard job just takes a little patience. http://robbs.js-x.com/ken/vette1/
The Ken Robb fix may do it, or believe it or not, there is yet another common culprit with C5 seats. The adjuster machinery is anchored and pivots on aluminum, and they can get pounded into having a lot of play as well. You have to replace the tracks, but Dino's Corvette Salvage in Picayune, Miss. had tons of new tracks in stock a few months ago. If you are sliding, the Robb fix will do it. If you are rocking, like when you boot it off the line, then contact Dino's.
