i recently had my tranny rebuilt by one of my good friends and now the tranny shifts at 5900 rpm instead of the previous 6500rpm. The only mod that i did was adding the transgo shift kit. I called the transgo guy and he tells me that the shifts start at the same time as it use to but now takes less time to complete because of the shift kit. The car is slower now then it use to be on the motor unless i manually shift it cause it now short shifts. The tuner said that he didn't think he had to retune the pcm becaus it was already done before, the shift firmness was done and raising of the shift points. What do i do to make the tranny shift at 6500 rpm again? If the rpm is already set as it was before what would i have to change it to now? Which table in the ls1 would i alter when it comes to raising shift points? Thanks..
When i did my install,i don't think they changed much.Because like the rep said the shift occurs faster. But, When i had a tuner start doing the car, he asked me if i wanted the shift RPM changed, i said no.That's all i remember, because after that he picked up a misfire and would not finish the tune. He wanted me to correct it then come back after that. Does that help?

mine's a 98
I have a similar post. Got a new RPM Tranny and swapped my Yank SS4000 to a Yank SS3600. Shift points set at 6600, and used to shift right around there, 6500. NOW it shifts at 6100 at WOT.
My buddy that tunes is going to look at it, just waiting for a licence for my VIN from HP Tuners. I looked at my old ls1 edit prgram that I had saved, said 6600? I hope I can fix it.
good luck, BTW my tranny has a Transgo shift kit in it as well.
Mine is short shifting as well and much slower too!!!!
Please PM Me when you figure it out and I will do the same. I see you repled to my post too.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope I can fix it with the tuning.
