I know this is not the place, but considering the circusmstances...Please dontate blood today, and take a friend. It's about all we as Americans can do right now to help.
I went and I, as many others, was turned away. They didn't have enough bags for the blood. I made an appointment for Friday. I am type O and I know that they need it badly.
likewise, i went to NIH, and was turned away, they were out of storage space, suggested that i return in a day or two. i will. i think i'm O, i know it's red. :U (oddly, can't stand the sight of my own blood being removed, but have no problem with cuts or dressing game)
Hey people, my wife works at the Red Cross in Peoria Illinois and I can tell you they want all they can get.:blueangel: She was there till after 11:00 PM last night drawing blood and is looking for another super busy day today. Come on every body, GIVE, GIVE and then get some else to GIVE.
LET US ALL GET BEHIND OUR COUNTRY AND DO WHAT WE CAN!!! :D    :yesnod:
Greg,
I have tried twice, but have been told need to wait 2-3 days as the number of those volunteering to donate will probably decrease. Today, there were inadequate people yo process the numbers of those wanting to donate.
I am sure this is location specific. Everyone should do what it takes to make this small gift of a pint of blood.
Greg, I left Atlanta Tuesday morning prior to the attacks. I am in the upper midwest and there are no guarantees when flights from here to Atlanta will occur. I do not know that I will be back while you are still in Atlanta.
Yes, there are some hassles, but my situation is not worthy of even mentioning. There are thousands of Americans whose lives have been devastated. Let's all pray for them and do whatever is possible to give them back something of what was lost.
